Dr. Kyla Nelson began her education at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. She later moved to Ontario to further her education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating with Clinic Honours and Cum Laude Honours in 2014. Dr. Nelson also completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University She has also been certified in Active Release Therapy.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Nelson believes proper movement is key to living a healthy, functional lifestyle. Dr. Nelson’s goal is to relieve patients’ pain by focussing on determining the underlying dysfunction and any aberrant movement patterns that may be limiting recovery. She utilizes a variety of techniques, with a special focus on manual adjustments, mobilizations, muscle release techniques, medical acupuncture, shockwave therapy and progressive rehabilitation programs.
Growing up in Nova Scotia, Dr. Nelson was an avid swimmer, paddler and coach and as such has a special interest in sport-related injuries.
