Dr. Kyla Nelson began her education at Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science. She later moved to Ontario to further her education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating with Clinic Honors and Cum Laude Honors in 2014. Dr. Nelson also completed the Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program at McMaster University She has also been certified in Active Release Therapy.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Nelson believes proper movement is key to living a healthy, functional lifestyle. Dr. Nelson’s goal is to relieve patients’ pain by focusing on determining the underlying dysfunction and any aberrant movement patterns that may be limiting recovery. She utilizes a variety of techniques, with a special focus on manual adjustments, mobilizations, muscle release techniques, medical acupuncture, shockwave therapy and progressive rehabilitation programs.
More recently, Dr Nelson has completed the Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise course through Core Exercise Solutions, Electro-Acupuncture for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction & Pain in Females, as well as various courses on topics such as Chronic Lumbar Disc Assessment and Management. She loves learning and is always working on new courses and techniques she can bring to her clients!
In her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys hiking and travelling with her family, as well as weight lifting, running and functional fitness! She’s even training for her first HYROX event!
